The following are two examples of how to use temporary tables with XMLports.
If the data that you are importing has a different structure than the table in Microsoft Dynamics NAV that you want to insert it into, you could import the data into a temporary table. The temporary table holds the data in cache without writing it to the database. You can then modify the data before inserting it into the database.
If the data that you are importing contains a record that already exists in the database, you cannot import it because C/SIDE only allows you to insert new records into the database. To avoid this problem, you can import the data into a temporary table, locate the record and use C/AL code to modify it and then insert it into the database.
